Carolina Wray (Formely Old North State) – American Music
- Jantzen and Dillon Wray
Small town life and hard work is what it’s all about for brother duo, Carolina Wray. Jantzen and Dillon Wray were raised in the mountains of Western North Carolina in a small town south of Asheville. Jantzen and Dillon work by day as the Production Team at Mill Creek Post & Beam, cutting wooden beams to be used for custom Timber Frame homes in Saluda, NC. Honest work is all these guys know and is what led them to seek refuge in the fun and care free nature of country music. Thus, Carolina Wray was born.
The Wray Brothers are ready to be re introduced with a fresh, energetic and finely crafted sound that is truly their own. Combining old school influences with modern sensibility, not to mention a pure love of the American South, Carolina Wray attemps to blur the lines between indie and mainstream music even further through honest, believable lyrics and authentic, catchy melodies.
Jantzen, while predominantly playing banjo, also makes other appearances on harmonica and acoustic and electric guitar. Dillon mainly handles the acoustic guitars and rythem by offering full-on percussion by way of kick drum and a tambourine that is controled with his left foot while adding his higher range to complete the dynamic vocal mix that is Carolina Wray.
Carolina Wray debuted “Carolina Love” on June 12th 2014. Once again, the Wray Brothers team up with longtime producer Ace Enders to create an infectious Summer jam that’ll have you singing along instantly. As a nod to their home state, “Carolina Love” will leave you craving a Carolina summer with a large sweet tea in hand. The track, while seemingly effortless and authentic, has the ability to present a carefree atmosphere we would all want to be a part of.
